Dr. Todd Pickman Is a Skilled Gonstead Chiropractor That Can Adjust Your Spine and Your Extremities.

What Is a Gonstead Adjustment?

There are dozens of adjusting techniques for Chiropractors. The Gonstead technique stands out from other techniques by having the highest level of attention to detail during the adjustment.

The aim of a Gonstead adjustment is to isolate the specific joint in question and deliver the appropriate amount of force (controlled thrust) into that joint with an exact vector in the direction opposite to how it was misaligned.

The Gonstead adjustment involves little to no rotation or twisting, making this an extremely safe, comfortable, and effective adjustment.

Many patients report that they feel that a Gonstead adjustment provides them more relief and benefit because it feels to be a “deeper” setting.

We Adjust Extremities Too

CCEP stands for Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner. It’s an advanced certification by the Council on Extremity Adjusting (CEA), rewarded to Chiropractors that complete their training to be able to adjust patients’ body parts beyond the spine.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a procedure used by practitioners that consists of passively moving joints and soft tissues in order to promote blood flow, reduce pain, and improve healing. Another term for this is joint mobilization or manipulation and soft tissue mobilization or specific localized massage. Manual therapy is incorporated in the rehabilitation process for our patients.

How Manual Therapy Works:

During your visit, sometimes before and sometimes after you get an adjustment, the Chiropractor or a therapist will use a variety of techniques with their hands to apply controlled pressure to your joints, muscles and fascia. These techniques help improve range of motion and flexibility, manage pain, reduce swelling, or inflammation, and help you feel relaxed.

Types of Manual Therapy We Offer:

With manual therapy, there is less of a need for medications and other more invasive, costly treatment methods. If you or your family suffers from painful conditions, give us a call to see which options are best for you to recover.
