Why is good posture important?

Good posture helps keep bones and joints in correct alignment so our body functions the way it was MEANT to work. Even more importantly, good posture facilitates communication within your central nervous system.

Why does good posture matter?

Poor posture commonly results from stress, obesity, pregnancy, weak postural muscles, abnormally tight muscles and high-heeled shoes. In addition, decreased flexibility, a poor work environment, incorrect working posture, unhealthy sitting and standing habits can also contribute to poor body positioning. Poor posture leads to misaligned spinal joints (subluxations).

THIS is WHY posture is so important! Any subluxation puts pressure on a nerve, which in turn disrupts communication in your central nervous system. This does NOT always present as back pain – symptoms can be asthma, allergies, organ disease, autoimmune disease, diabetes… You’re not always sick! It’s your posture!
